Mo-Co Rush Softball Tryouts
Tryouts for the Mo-Co Rush girls traveling
softball will be held Saturday, August 5th, and
Sunday, August 6th on the west diamond of
Jurgens Park in Arthur. The diamond is located
next to ALAH high school and the four-way stop
on 133. The day will start with the 10U tryouts
from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM, 11/12U will be from
12:30 PM – 3:00 PM, and 14U will be from 3:00 PM
– 5:30 PM. Registration and warm-ups will begin
30 minutes prior to the scheduled time. This
year’s Rush teams are among the best in the area
as the ’04 team, next year’s 14U, currently stands
at 49-32, while the ’05 team, next year’s 12U, cur
rently stands at 56-25-1 and boasts a two year
record of 132-38-1. For more information about all

F.L.I.P. 4 Findlay
The F.L.I.P. 4 Findlay 5K run/walk is Saturday,
August 12 with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m.
and race time at 8 a.m.
Registration start and finish will take place at
Eagle Creek State Park. Prizes include three
awards per age group and gender.

Moms On a Mission in Sullivan: Fellowship with a
Purpose
– A group of Christian moms who meet
for fellowship while also striving to grow spiritu
ally and serve our community. A typical meeting
includes breakfast, devotion and discussion, fol
lowed by an activity or service project.
Childcare is provided by church volunteers.
There is a classroom for 2+ year olds, which
includes a snack and a Christian lesson. We also
offer a nursery for 0-2 year olds.
Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays
of the month from 9:00-11:00am at the First
United Methodist Church in Sullivan. No meeting
if there is no school that day.

Open Mic
Allenville Community Building will host an
open mic the last Friday of each month for coun
try music from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Grief Support Group
A weekly grief support group meets 5:45 p.m.
– 7:15 p.m. Wednesdays through May 29.
Meetings are held at the First United Methodist
Church at 216 W. Jefferson in Sullivan. Dinner
and child care are provided at 5:15 p.m.

Free Play Group
Bright Start is a free play group program that
is funded through the Illinois State Board of
Education for children birth thru age three who
reside in Moultrie County. Play groups meet on
Thursday mornings from 9 to 10:30 at the Early
Intervention building at 203 S. Graham, Sullivan.

50 Plus Gatherings
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each
month from 6:30-8pm. If you are age 50 or older,
please join us! We are a generation with much to
offer in perspective, experience, skills and wis
dom as we extend God’s love within and beyond

Yoga 12 Step
Recovery Meeting
Y12SR-Yoga 12 Step Recovery is a donation
based meeting that will meet at the Masonic
Temple Tuesdays 7:30-9:30pm
Y12SR is an integrative 12-step meeting and a
yoga practice for those that suffer from addiction
and for those who love them.

Aquafest
Aquafest at Dam West Beach is no ordinary
day at the beach! The Lake Shelbyville, U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers will be hosting Aquafest on
Saturday, August 5 from noon to 4:00 p.m.
Children and adults of ages all are welcome to
attend. The beach fee will be waived for the entire
day to allow all beach users a chance to come out
and enjoy the free games and activities. Activities
include water safety superhero games, sand
sculpture contest, inflatable water slides, bounce
houses, and an appearance from Bobber the Water
Safety Dog.

Relay for Life
Relay for Life is 6 p.m.-midnight Friday,
August 11 on the Sullivan High School track. The
theme is Grease (the movie) so participants
should feel free to come in costume.
Luminaria are available, and order forms will
be available at the local banks. Completed forms
and payment may be mailed to Diane Waggoner
at 48 Roley Est. in Sullivan. Luminaria at $10 per
bag may be purchased in honor or memory of
loved ones who have fought or are still fighting
cancer.

Silent Auction begins at 6 p.m. and closes at

Sullivan Church of God will provide a Kid’s
Corner with bounce house, games, and dunk
tank.
There will also be several local food trucks on
site for the event.

SBL Lincolnland Home Care and Lincolnland
Hospice will conduct a free blood pressure clinic
from 8:30-9 a.m. Thursday, August 17 at the
Senior Center in Sullivan. For more information,

Hospice and Lincolnland Home Medical will
sponsor bingo from 9-10 a.m. following the blood
pressure clinic.
